The Almighty Yoga Butt

Ah yes. Yoga butt. The term has two meanings in the Yoga world: a small tear at the origin of the hamstring muscle and sit bones, and the other (far more entertaining) are the large bubbles that form on the butt from rigorous practice of Yoga. Yes my readers. I am sure you have an idea of which one I am going to talk about. I am sure that you have looked at the pic and said to yourself: that is a marvelous hiney. And indeed you are correct. This article is dedicated to those who’s bottoms are golden idols, burgeoning on the precipice of becoming fully god-like.

I wanted to write this article to talk about why this actually happens from Yoga and how to get it. Yes, I realize that a pancake-butt straight man like myself talking about such a topic is unheard of. I also realize that many more women will read this than men. But(t) that’s ok. This is an interesting topic, one which I’ve heard many people discuss; and since this is THE Yoga Blog, it’s definitely a prime place to bring it out in the open.

Yoga is a total system; one which is synergistic. Everything is used. However, the legs and glutes especially seem to get lots of benefits, as they are used the most. Over time, if you keep practicing, your body will respond and your legs and glutes will grow and look great. And you don’t need extra padding to achieve it. Even I have gotten some benefit in that area. We all have looked at people who are physically active, and if you have an eye for it you can actually tell if they practice Yoga. Their body looks balanced. Lots of guys really ignore the legs which I always found to be ridiculous. Actually, by working your legs intensely you build up more testosterone which helps you to build muscles much more quickly. (see how to boost your testosterone here). So in case any of you are wondering what postures actually do this, I decided to post some links to Yoga exercises that help you to get the back-end you’ve always wanted.
